Dávid István: Isten szótagolva
Book design. Cover, interior layout. 2021. Publisher: Koinonia.
Compared to what is typically expected of literary works, the book embraces a markedly strong visuality, arising from the dynamic interplay between text and visual elements composed in parallel. The multilayered imagery—enriched by photographs, graphic elements, typographic gestures, and sound accessed through digital codes—is effectively balanced by a restrained use of color.
It also offers an intriguing reflection on the traditions of illustrated texts by allowing the text itself, through its visual transformation, to become its own illustration.
The intense gestures and strong contrasts create complex possibilities for new interpretations of the content. The expansive and at times surprising visual concept—employing a wide range of tools from visual dramaturgy—proposes a novel, interactive relationship for the reader, viewer, and recipient.

But the key isn’t a fancy brand book or a neat strategy; it’s the implementation. Does it work? Can it be executed effectively? Yes. We make branding live.

Packaging & Labels
Now, that’s a different story. Most people look at packaging and say, ‘I love it’ or ‘I don’t like it.’ But the core objective of packaging isn’t to be liked—it’s to function. Does it bear the task of getting noticed on a crowded shelf? Does the information flow in the right order? Does the customer identify with it instantly? If the answer is yes, it’s not just good design—it’s a strategic asset. Otherwise, it’s just decoration.

Graphic Design
Graphic design?! In the era of AI? You must be kidding, right? Well, we’re not. You can ask an AI to do many things, but when it comes to the ‘make the logo bigger’ debate… well, it’s just not capable of arguing with you. And sometimes, you need someone who will. And that is only one point on a list of reasons why we consider Graphic Design more connected to people than ever before…
